piezoelectric buzzer

The piezoelectric buzzer is an electro-acoustic component composed of a piezoelectric ceramic sounding element and an oscillating circuit. The piezoelectric ceramic sheet after high-voltage extreme pressure is pasted on the vibrating metal sheet. When AC voltage is added, mechanical deformation, stretching and contraction will occur due to the piezoelectric effect, and this characteristic will make the metal sheet vibrate and make a sound.

Piezoelectric buzzers use piezoelectric materials, that is, piezoelectric materials generate charges when they are deformed by external forces. Likewise, piezoelectric materials deform when applied with electricity

structure appearance

Piezoelectric buzzers are usually circular and consist of piezoelectric ceramic sheets, leads and resonant chambers.
The piezoelectric ceramic sheet in the middle is composed of metal coating, ceramic sheet, glue, and metal sheet.
The shapes and circuit symbols of common piezoelectric buzzers are shown on the right:
From an electrical point of view, piezoelectric ceramics can be simplified as a series model of an inductor and a capacitor.

features

The piezoelectric buzzer has the characteristics of small size, high sensitivity, low power consumption, good reliability, low cost and good frequency characteristics. Therefore, it is widely used in the alarm and sounding purposes of various electrical products. The most common ones are music greeting cards, electronic watches, pocket calculators, electronic doorbells, electronic toys and other small electronic products as sounding devices.
